Guitar Excellence – Finalist in the Small Business Awards with 702 and Sage One

Guitar Excellence has recently made it to the finals of the Small Business Awards with 702 & Sage One. 702 radio had an interview with owner Tyrone Mayer on 24 August 2016. You can listen to the full interview below:

Shortly after the interview Sinikiwe Mqadi published an article on 702’s website reading:

How It Works

It takes more than just grit and passion to run a great small business. For the businesses that put in more, there’s the Small Business Awards on 702 with Sage One.

If you know of a small business that exceeded your expectations and left you wanting more, tell us about them. We’ll reward them for being more than just a business.

Prizes

1st place: Sage One will award the winner with a laptop and free access to Sage One Accounting and Sage One Payroll software, giving them the freedom they need to run their business anywhere, anytime. They’ll also receive a training course or seminar of their choice, as well as a year’s worth of software support. An airtime package to the value of R250 000 on 702 will also be awarded to the winner to promote their business.

2nd place: Two runners-up will receive Sage One Accounting and Sage One Payroll software. They will also receive a free training course or seminar of their choice, as well as a year’s worth of software support. An airtime package to the value of R125 000 on 702 will also be awarded to the two runners-up.

Tyrone’s Words

Tyrone also published the following post to a few of his personal social media platforms:

“Who would have thought at the tender age 19 handing out flyers in Randburg armed with a dream and, my Sony Walkman, that in 2016 we would operate in most major metros, teach people online from all over the world and launch video guitar lessons to reach even more people. The journey has been amazing, challenging and f#@king hard work! They say great things are done by individuals by I must say it takes a team to really mess things up ;)…”

He then continued to thank all his colleagues, employees, role models and personal friends and family who have helped him and Guitar Excellence get to where it is today.

He ended of the post with the following Russian Proverb: “If you don’t take risks you don’t drink champagne”
